Since immemorial time, a strategic videogame must always give the time to get organized and to operate. Maybe I will be very "populist" but missions with limited turns are unacceptable. So what is wrong with XCOM 2? Many things. Few new nice things as Ranger and Specialist class, improved higher customization of soldiers and concealment mode, have been great additions. XCOM 2 does well all the things its predecessor did: from direct combat to the management of the base (the Avenger), from the ability of soldiers to the development of the armament and objects and management of the Resistance zones. And XCOM has always shone for his deep, hard and complex gameplay. But a videogame is not only plot, isn't it? We know that. The plot is rich and pushes you to going forward till the end.

The twists are not lacking, and I found the Spokesman "last stand" (or whatever happened to him) simply amazing even the destruction of ADVENT's network seemed a reference to 1988's movie "They Live" that I like, and final mission having to drive an "Avatar" with the Commander and the squad on his side was very nice. Also going forward during main missions I was always curious to known where the discovery and the struggle would bring the XCOM team.
However, as the aliens have won the war, after Enemy Unknown, to me it is not yet clear: governments have surrendered to the aliens.so? Nothing else? Apart from this, the fact that ADVENT have used the Commander as a weapon against humanity itself is brilliant. It reminded me the sci-fi opera "The Visitors". The fact that aliens, or ADVENT, have taken control of the Earth, for 20 years, feels perceptible as things have changed and how XCOM are now a thing of the past. The plot is really good, no doubt about it.

And what I think is that it was a disappointment, already anticipated in part by the PC audience. I won't talk about this game as the others want me to do it I'll talk about this game for what I think.
I expected that they could overcome the first chapter. I was expecting great things from Firaxis. XCOM 2 grew up in my thoughts with a lot of trust, hype, but also some doubts. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces.
Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for Earth has changed.
